Low Temperature Production of BCN Nanotubes (Boron-and-Nitrogen Doped Carbon Nanotubes): Properties Control through Doping

The project aims to control carbon nanotube (CNT) properties by doping. In this regard, boron doped- CNTs, nitrogen doped-CNTs and boron-and-nitrogen doped-CNTs are synthesized by aerosol assisted chemical vapour deposition and characterised by SEM, TEM, Raman, XPS and EELS. Different precursors and reaction parameters are studied to understand the effect of dopant and its concentration on nanotube properties. This project is funded by the European Commission FP7 Marie Curie Initial Training Network CONTACT.
