Short biography

I obtained my BEng (honor) from Xiamen University (China) in 2008. Afterwards, I was awarded a PhD research scholarship to study in Nanyang Technological University of Singapore under supervision of Prof. Rong Xu, working on the development of photocatalyst for solar fuel production via water splitting and CO2 reduction. During the PhD study, I was an active researcher in the Singapore-Berkeley Research Initiative for Sustainable Energy (SinBeRISE) program. I graduated in 2013 and stayed in the same group for about one year and a half, first as project officer and then research fellow. Soon afterwards, I joined in Dr Camille Petit’s group in Imperial College London as research associate to design nanocomposite materials for CO2 capture and conversion. Since Aug 2015, I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellow in Prof Grobert’s group.

Research summary

I am interested in the development of nanomaterials for energy and environmental applications including water splitting, CO2 capture and conversion and water treatment.
