The topic of Jodie’s part II project is ‘Novel routes to inorganic nanomaterials’. The project involves using Chemical Vapour Deposition to make WS2 and MoS2 nanostructures and exploring variables such as synthesis time, temperature and precursor purities suitable for synthesizing the nanostructures.

Her previous research includes participating in the Cooperative International Science and Engineering Internship program at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2009 and 2010 where she worked on making solid polymer electrolytes in Professor Craig J. Hawker’s group.
