Short Biography

I started my DPhil in October 2018 and my research is supervised by Prof Nicole Grobert and Prof Peter Bruce. Before starting my DPhil, I worked as a researcher at Koc University, Istanbul (mainly) on developing novel cathode materials and electrolyte additives for Li-ion batteries. Not managing to leave Oxford for too long, before working as a researcher, I was an MSc by Research student at the University of Oxford doing research under the supervision of Prof Nicole Grobert (yes, again) and Prof Kylie Vincent (Chemistry). My MSc project focused on developing tailored carbon nanomaterials for H2-driven biocatalytic reactions in flow. Even before this (2010 - 2014), I did my BSc in Chemistry and in Chemical&Biological Engineering at Koc University.

Research Summary

My research is focused on understanding and developing carbon-based air cathodes electrodes for Li-air batteries.
